College book store returns

We recognize that college bookstore returns are often unavoidable, but they can be costly. By managing book returns efficiently, costs are controlled and waste is minimized. CCH requires advance approval / return authorization for book returns.

As a college bookstore, you receive educational discounts for publications ordered for classroom adoption of 10 copies or more. Our return policy allows adopters of our texts return privileges of 20% of their order, provided books are in salable condition, and returned within one year from date of purchase. If a class is canceled after books have shipped, CCH will honor full return privileges—provided we receive notification within 30 days of class cancellation.

Outlined below are guidelines to assist you in seeking return approval and sending returned shipments to ensure proper crediting. Before submitting returns, stores must request return authorization via one of the 2 options below.

  1. Access the interactive Return School Books self-service tool. This tool will automatically compute your authorized return, create a return authorization letter to include in the shipment and also a complete return label. Just sign in to My Account, click on Manage Accounts then select Return School Books from the "Select an Action" menu on the right-hand side of the screen. If you are new to My Account, you will need to register prior to using My Account for the first time.

  2. Write or fax our Book Department. This request must include the reason for the return, the title(s) and quantity to be returned, purchase order number, invoice number and CCH account number.

If the return is approved, CCH will then notify your store via e-mail or fax, sending approval with an RMA label that should be placed on the package for special handling purposes.

Your approved authorization or a copy of it, along with the RMA label must accompany each returned shipment. Failure to follow these instructions will result in our inability to credit your account.
