CCH ViewPlan/CCH ViewPlan Advanced use the IRS mortality tables. Therefore, when you first enter the birth year for your client (the default is 1900) in the Clients module, the programs will use the tables to determine the year of death and apply this year to all plans generated for the client.

To change the year of death:

1. Go to Plans.
2. Choose the plan you want to change.
3. Click on the "Edit" button. 
4. In the middle of the "General" tab is the "Timing of Deaths" section where you can change the year of death.

Again, all plans will default to the year of death based on the client's birth year, so you will need to make this change for all plans you intend on using.
