Please note before installing:  CCH ViewPlan uses MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components) to control its database.  If the CCH ViewPlan installation detects that MDAC is not installed or that a version older than 2.5 exists, then the CCH ViewPlan installer will install MDAC before continuing.  This may require the Terminal Server to be rebooted.  For additional information on installing MDAC on Terminal Server, please see the documents below.

1. Log into Terminal Server/Citrix as an administrator to the machine.
2. Place the CCH ViewPlan installation CD-ROM in a drive that is accessible to the Terminal Server/Citrix machine.
3. To begin Phase 1 installation:

• If you are using Terminal Server 4.0 it is not necessary to install Phase 1 in Install Mode.

a. Go to Start > Run
b. Type (substitute CD-ROM path for “D:”): D:\Setup.exe
c. Click OK.  Installation will start.

• If you are using Windows Server 2000 with Terminal Services

a. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
b. Click on Add New Programs.
c. Click on CD or Floppy button
d. Click Next.
e. Browse to the CD location and select Setup.exe.
f. Click Open.
g. Click Next.  Installation will start.

• If you are using Windows Server 2003 with Terminal Services

a. Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
b. Click on Add New Programs.
c. Click on CD or Floppy button
d. Click Next.
e. Browse to the CD location and select Setup.exe.
f. Click Open.
g. Click Next.  Installation will start. (If prompted to run application, click Yes)

4. On the CCH ViewPlan installer Welcome screen click Next.
5. Click Yes for the License Agreement
6. On the Setup Type screen, choose Network and click Next
7. Choose First Time Installation and click Next.
8. Type in your CCH account number in the provided field and click Next.
9. Type in your CCH Serial Number and License codes and click Next.  If you do not have your codes, see the "How to obtain serial number and license code" section at the end of this solution.
10. You will be prompted for a destination folder.  This folder can be placed on either the Terminal Server or on a file server.  Use Browse to change the default path.  Click Next.  Installation will start.  Note: All CCH ViewPlan users must have full rights to the folder and subfolders.
11. On the View Readme file screen, uncheck “View What’s New In This Release” if you do not wish to view the readme file and click Next.
12. A dialog announces that setup has been completed and that a workstation setup must be performed.  Click OK.
13. At the InstallShield Wizard Complete screen click Finish.
14. At the Terminal Server’s After Installation screen, click Next.
15. At the Terminal Server’s Finish Install screen, click Finish.  The CCH ViewPlan Phase 1 installation has been completed.
16. To begin the workstation (Phase 2) installation:

• If you are using either Terminal Server 4.0 or Windows Server 2000 with Terminal Services

a. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
b. Click on Add New Programs.
c. Click on CD or Floppy button
d. Click Next.
e. Browse to the location where the Phase 1 installation was installed.
f. Open the Setup folder and select Setup.exe
g. Click Open.
h. Click Next.  Installation will start.

• If you are using Windows Server 2003 with Terminal Services

a. Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
b. Click on Add New Programs.
c. Click on CD or Floppy button
d. Click Next.
e. Browse to the location where the Phase 1 installation was installed.
f. Open the Setup folder and select Setup.exe.
g. Click Open.
h. Click Next.  Installation will start. (If prompted to run application, click Yes)

17. At the Welcome screen, click Next.
18. At the License screen click Yes.
19. At the Destination folder screen, choose a location on the Terminal Server.  Click Next.  Note:  If Phase 1 has been installed on the Terminal Server, make sure that the workstation path is different than the Phase 1 path.
20. For Program Folders, click Next to accept the default.  Installation will start.
21. At the InstallShield Wizard Complete screen, click Finish.
22. At the Terminal Server’s After Installation screen, click Next.
23. At the Terminal Server’s Finish Install screen, click Finish.
24. CCH ViewPlan has been installed.

How to obtain serial number and license code

To obtain your serial number and license code, you can use the Unlock Codes self-service tool located on our My Account support site. Just sign in to My Account, click on Manage Accounts then select Unlock Codes from the "Select an Action" menu on the right-hand side of the screen. If you are new to My Account, you will need to register prior to using My Account for the first time.
