"An Add-in has fired an exception" when opening Outlook with CCH ProSystem fx Document Email Management installed.

This is usually version specific and each version has its own steps.
Find the correct version below and follow the steps listed.

For Email Management v3.7

For Email Management v3.8.1

  1. In Outlook, go to Tools > Options > Other > Advanced Options.
  2. Change "Startup in this folder" to Inbox and click OK .
  3. Close and reopen Outlook.

For Email Management v3.9

  1. In Outlook, go to File > Options > Advanced.
  2. Change "Start Outlook in this folder" to Inbox and click OK .
  3. Close and reopen Outlook.

If the version specific steps do not stop the error there are two other solutions.

  • Uninstall and reinstall Email Management.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the Document Drive.
