How does the Autosave function work in CCH Axcess™ Tax?
Autosave saves all changes to a temporary file of an open return. Autosave is automatically enabled and set with a 2 minute interval. If Tax is closed out abnormally with a return open, the option to recover from an Autosave may occur when the return is reopened. The Autosave file is return specific, not user specific, meaning the same Autosave file would be used if user A or user B opened the return. If "Yes" is selected on the Autosave prompt, the data in the temporary file is merged into the return file. If "No" is selected on the Autosave prompt, the temporary file is removed and no longer available.
Important: Autosave does not replace the system Save function. Users should continue saving using the save icon or by pressing CTRL+S on your keyboard. The file created by Autosave is used as a restoration file from the active return session. When the return is closed normally, the temporary file is deleted. To retain return data so it can be recalled, you must save the return.
