How do I configure users for the Electronic Filing Status system?

  1. Open Office Manager.
  2. Click Help > ProSystem fx on the Web > Electronic Filing Website.
  3. Login with your SSO and click Go.
  4. Click on the Configure Staff tab.
  5. On the bottom of the "Staff" page click Add.
  6. At a minimum, enter information in the fields with an "*" next to them.
  7. Click Next.
  8. On the "Licensing/Product Access" page, check Electronic Filing Status.
  9. Click Next.
  10. On the "Functional Rights" page, click Electronic Filing Status.
  11. Check the appropriate rights that you want to give this user for the Electronic Filing Status program.
    • Release - Allows the staff member to release returns to the taxing authority.
    • Delete - Allows the staff member to delete returns from the Electronic Filing Status system.
    • Stop - Allows the staff member to stop a return after it has been released to the taxing authority.
  12. Click Next.
  13. Repeat steps 5 - 12 to add more staff members as necessary.
  14. Once you are finished, click Close on the top navigation panel to exit Configure Staff.

  • Once you have users configured on the web site, you can link them to your CCH ProSystem fx Tax users that you have setup in Office Manager.  By linking users you will not have to log into Electronic Filing Status if you already have Tax Preparation open.
  • You do not have to link users on the web site to users in Office Manager in order to access Electronic Filing Status.  If users are not linked, then users will need to log into Electronic Filing Status with the user ID and password that you create on the web site each time you open the Electronic Filing Status program.
  • If you do not link the users on the web site to users in Office Manager multiple staff members can use the same user ID and password created on the web site to log into Electronic Filing Status.
    • If you do this, follow the steps listed above in the "To setup users in Electronic Filing Status follow these steps" section and just create one user ID for all staff to share.
