How do I create a custom view in CCH Axcess Workstream?

The following video explains the process of creating a custom view in CCH Axcess Workstream.  Detailed steps are below.


Creating the Custom View:

  1. From the Axcess Dashboard, choose Application Links.
  2. Under the Workstream tab, choose Projects.
  3. On the left side, the Navigation panel displays all the existing default views and custom views that have been created.  
    • Note: Custom views have a colored icon next to the view name; default views have a gray icon.
  4. Determine which type of view you need.   It is helpful, but not necessary, to start by double clicking on one of the existing views, then modify it.
    • Forms Views
    • Project Views
    • Workstep Views
  5. If you don't see panes for View Filters and Columns, select Views from the ribbon and check the boxes for Filters and Columns.  
  6. Select New View from the Views tab.
  7. Choose the View Type from the View Filters pane.
  8. Add the filters to define the information you want to see. 
  9. Click Go to run the View.  Reset will clear the changes and return to the default view filters.
  10. Modify the columns displayed using the Columns pane.  
  11. Select Save View from the Views tab.
  12. Name the view, and it will show in the navigation pane.


After the view has been created:

You can export the data displayed into an Excel file by opening the Home tab and selecting Export.

You can give the view definition to another user by selecting Export View from the Views tab.  A .dyv file will be created and the user can use Import view to bring it into their Navigation Pane.

You create folder(s) for your custom views by right clicking in the white space in the Navigation pane.  Select New - Folder.  Right Click on the New Folder to name it.
