The SQL Server (PROFXENGAGEMENT) service stopped after rebooting the computer with CCH® ProSystem fx® Engagement or Workpaper Manager.

The "PROFXENGAGEMENT SQL" service may fail to start during computer boot up if another process or service interferes.

To start or restart the SQL Server (PROFXENGAGEMENT) service complete the following:

  1. Click the Windows Start button.
    • Alternatively, press WINDOWS + R to open a run line.
  2. Type services.msc in the search bar and press ENTER.
  3. In the Services window locate the "SQL Server (PROFXENGAGEMENT)" service.
  4. Right-click on SQL Server (PROFXENGAGEMENT) and click Start.

To help prevent this issue in the future, complete the following:

  1. Right click on the SQL Server (PROFXENGAGEMENT) and click Properties.
  2. On the General tab, change the Startup type to Automatic (Delayed Start).
  3. On the Recovery tab, change each failure option to Restart the Service.
