Why can't I connect to another user's machine in field mode?

Users in the field will usually get a different IP address than the one they have in the office. In order to communicate, Engagement must be able to communicate with another computer with the correct IP/Hostname resolution. If the IP address of another computer has changed by switching networks, the computer having an issue connecting must be updated to see the change.

For steps on using the CCH ProSystem fx Engagement Configuration Utility to connect to another computer (Click here).

Following these steps on all of the machines in field environment may be required to successfully connect and field sync.

Note: It's possible that the issue is with IPv6. As a workaround, you may need to remove or disable the IPv6 protocol and use IPv4 instead.  Microsoft provides a detailed set of instructions at the following link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929852
