How do I electronically file estimates in a 1040 return using interview forms?

The video below demonstrates how to setup and verify that estimated tax payments are included in the e-filed 1040 return using interview forms in CCH® Global fx Tax and CCH® ProSystem fx® Tax.

From start to finish, there is a five step process for electronically filing estimates:

Important Information - [Return]

  • Estimated payments for all four vouchers have to be set up and e-filed at the time of the tax return.
  • All estimate vouchers are submitted with the return and cannot be submitted separately.
  • Estimate vouchers are not able to be electronically filed with an extension.
  • Once the estimates have been selected, e-filed, and accepted, there is not a way to re-submit the vouchers with different amounts.

Step 1: Generate Estimates In The Return - [Return]

Step 2: Add Bank Information In The Return - [Return]

Step 3: Enable Electronic Filing of Estimates In The Return - [Return]

      • Note: AL, AR, CA, DC, IL, IA, KS, KY, ME, MN, NE, NY, NYC, NC, ND, OK, PA, and WI are the states/cities currently allowing electronically filed estimates to be submitted.
  2. Calculate the return.
