Estate Planning Software Updates

You must be an active subscriber in order to download the latest release of CCH ViewPlan or CCH ViewPlan Advanced.

Call our ViewPlan Support line at 1-888-879-5515 or send an e-mail to customer support to obtain the password you will need to install the release.

To begin the download, click on the link below. When the message box appears, click Save. Select a location to save the file on your hard drive. Once the file is downloaded, use My Computer or Windows Explorer to locate the file you downloaded and double-click on it. This will begin the install.

The following release is available for download for CCH ViewPlan and CCH ViewPlan Advanced customers:

CCH ViewPlan / CCH ViewPlan Advanced Version 4.91.0005 (39.4 MB) 07/2009

Once the download is complete and you are ready to install the release, be sure to exit all other applications before initiating the installation. When prompted, enter the password you received from Support. Follow the prompts to install the release.

If you prefer, you may choose to receive this release on CD-ROM. Please contact ViewPlan Support at 1-888-879-5515 or send an e-mail to request a CD-ROM version of the release.

Training

It is recommended that new users take our "Introduction to ViewPlan" course. This is a series of lessons designed to introduce users to the components, functions, normal workflow, and best practices for ViewPlan.

There are four lessons in the "Introduction to ViewPlan" training course. They should be taken in consecutive order.

  • All the steps of using ViewPlan in a very simple example

  • Importing & Exporting data, etc.

Each lesson is delivered on a MP-3 audio file and a PDF (Adobe Acrobat) document which is called the "Participant's Guide". Trainees should download all of these files to their own PCs.

When they are ready to take one of the classes, they simply print the PDF Participant's Guide and run the MP-3 audio file in a MP-3 player or the Windows Media Player on their PCs. They also need to have ViewPlan running on their PCs. They can take the classes at their own convenience – any time, any place.

The training alternates between instructional lecture on the MP-3 audio file and hands-on exercises in the live ViewPlan software. The Participant's Guide ties the class together. It is heavily referenced in the lecture, and contains illustrations to guide trainees through the hands-on exercises. All pages in the Participant's Guide have ample white space in which trainees can take notes. After the training, the Participant's Guide serves as a review and reference tool.

Trainees can pause the lecture to read information or take notes in the Participant's Guide. Trainees can complete the hands-on exercises at their own pace, so training times can vary. However, the training is designed so that each class should take about an hour or less.
