The CCH® ProSystem fx® Engagement or Workpaper Manager functions no longer appear in Microsoft® Outlook®.
Beginning with Microsoft® Outlook® 2010, there is no longer a separate ribbon or tab for CCH® ProSystem fx® Engagement or Workpaper Manager. The functions for Engagement or Workpaper Manager are now found under the Add-Ins tab in Microsoft® Outlook®.

- Check to see if the addin is loaded:
- Close Microsoft® Outlook®.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager and close any instance of Outlook.exe under Processes or Details.
- Open Microsoft® Outlook® and check if the functions are still missing.
- If the functions are still missing, go to File > Options > Add-Ins and verify that the WP Outlook Addin is not listed under Disabled Application Add-Ins or Inactive Application Add-Ins.
- If it is disabled, do the following:
- In the Manage box, select Disabled Items and click Go.
- Select WP Outlook Addin and click Enable.
- Click Close.
- Continue with the steps for inactive addins below.
- If it is inactive, do the following:
- In the Manage box, select COM Add-Ins and click Go.
- Select the box for WP Outlook Addin and click OK.
- If the addin is showing loaded in the COM-Addins, but the Addins tab is missing, check in Microsoft® Outlook® that the Addins tab is enabled:
- Right-click on one of the ribbons in Microsoft® Outlook®. (Home, Send/Receive, Folder, or etc.)
- Select Customize Ribbon,
- Also can access by clicking File > Options > Customize Ribbon.
- On the right-box scroll and locate the "Addins" and check the checkbox.
- Click OK. This should allow the Addins tab to appear and the Engagement or Workpaper Manager addins should be visible.
- If it is disabled, do the following:
- Re-register the Engagement or Workpaper Manager addin:
- From the keyboard, press Windows + S.
- Type cmd in the Search window to locate the Command Prompt.
- Right-click on Command Prompt and choose Run as Administrator.
- In the Command Prompt window, type CD "C:\Pfx Engagement\Common"
- Press Enter.
- Depending on the version of Microsoft® Outlook® installed, type the following commands:
- For 32-bit installations of Microsoft® Outlook®, type regsvr32 oladdin.dll and press Enter. A message will display indicating if the file was registered successfully or not. Click OK on the message.
- For 64-bit installations of Microsoft® Outlook®, type regsvr32 pfx.engagement.oladdin64.dll and press Enter. A message will display indicating if the file was registered successfully or not. Click OK on the message.
- If the file registers successfully, check Microsoft® Outlook® to see if the functions are back.
- If the file does not register or the functions still do not appear, rename the Common folder and run a repair of Engagement or Workpaper Manager per the following article, how to repair an existing install of CCH® ProSystem fx® Engagement or Workpaper Manager.
- If the Microsoft® Office installation was changed from 32-bit to 64-bit or 64-bit to 32-bit the following below will need to be performed:
- Remove all prior Microsoft® Office installation folders from the machine.
- Perform a repair to Microsoft® Office (Note: If running Microsoft® Office 365™ perform an Online Repair.)
- Perform a full uninstall of Engagement or Workpaper Manager (Note: Do not uninstall Microsoft® SQL Server®)
- Reinstall Engagement or Workpaper Manager
