This issue is caused by a missing smagicYY.dll or the smagicYY.dll is not at the correct version in the WFX32 directory. (YY is the 2 digit tax year.)

1. Check to see if you anti-virus program has quarantined the smagicYY.dll file for the year you are trying to open tax preparation. If it has quaranctined the file, restore that file and open tax preparation.
2. If it has not been quarantined, run a setup programs installation for the affected year.

3. If the affected Tax Year is not the current tax year, then you will need to run setup programs from the most recent installation image. Run setup programs for the prior year first, followed by the current year.

Note:

• This will only be an issue when Tax Preparation is being accessed with worksheet view turned on. If Tax Preparation is switched to interview view, the error will not occur. 
• To ensure that the problem does not reoccur, please make sure that the CCH ProSystem fx Tax (wfx32) folder is excluded from real-time scanning.
