How do I configure OCLC® EZproxy® so that remote users can access my.vitallaw using IP authentication?
Before configuring OCLC EZproxy to work with my.vitallaw, please keep in mind that my.vitallaw now requires OCLC® EZproxy® v7.0.x or higher. my.vitallaw might continue to work for you with older versions of EZproxy®. However, we can not support older versions of EZproxy®.
To configure OCLC® EZproxy® to work with my.vitallaw, do the following:
- Edit the OCLC® EZproxy® configuration file (Config.txt) to allow OCLC® EZproxy® to access my.vitallaw.
- Note: The OCLC® EZproxy® configuration file (config.txt) must have entries that allow SSL (https) processing. An SSL certificate is required (see https://help.oclc.org/Library_Management/EZproxy/Secure_your_EZproxy_server/010SSL_configuration?sl=en). You can purchase a certificate from a certificate authority, or you can create and self-assign a free self-signed certificate in OCLC® EZproxy®. A self-signed certificate will cause a browser warning when users access your OCLC® EZproxy® server. For more information on differences in browser behavior, consult SSL Certificate Options.

- Add the following entry to the OCLC® EZproxy® configuration file:
- Note: Port 443 is the preferred number. as this is the standard port for use with https.
Warning! The following steps must be performed by the OCLC® EZproxy® administrator.
- Stop the OCLC® EZproxy® service.
- Open the OCLC® EZproxy® configuration file (Config.txt) in a text editor such as Notepad.
- Enter the following line to enable SSL.
- Add the following entry for my.vitallaw:

- After making the changes, save the OCLC® EZproxy® configuration file.
- Restart OCLC® EZproxy®.
- If you are using a catalog page outside of OCLC® EZproxy®, create or edit the link for my.vitallaw to include the URL in the Cheetah stanza.
- Example: http://ezproxy.domain/login?url=https://my.vitallaw.com/
Note: If you subscribe to multiple Wolters Kluwer research products, you might have access to the product selector feature.
