The Wage Tax Refund Petition (Form WTR) is for salary or hourly employees and should not be used by commissioned employees.

• This form will produce if there is an overpayment on one or more of the TP and/or SP W-2s.
• The Annual Reconciliation of 20XX Employee Earnings Tax form will produce if an amount is due.
• Input wages on federal worksheet IRS W-2.
• If more than one W-2, a note should be made of the entity number.

To code the IRS W-2 to Philadelphia, do the following:

1. Go to Income > Wages, Salaries and Tips (W-2).
   • Select Section 1 - Wages and Salaries (IRS W-2).
   • Click Detail located in the upper left corner of the grid.
     • Select Section 1 - IRS W-2.
       • In Line 16 - State and City Info grid, do the following:
         • In Local wages, tips, etc, enter the wage amount.
         • In Local income tax, enter the withholding amount.
         • In City, use the drop-down and PHI - Philadelphia, PA.
2. Calculate the return.

To generate the PHI Earning Tax or Wage Tax Petition, do the following:

1. Navigate to the Pennsylvania Tax Authority.
2. Go to Philadelphia > Earnings Tax.
   • Select Section 1 - General Information for Earnings Tax and Wage Tax Petition.
     • In Line 1 - W-2 name, use the drop-down and select the appropriate W-2 to link.
     • In Line 3 - Include wages from this compensation in preparation of the annual reconciliation of employee earnings tax, select the checkbox.
     • In Line 5 - Salary/hourly employee for this income, select the checkbox.
3. Calculate the return.

Notes

• To attach additional IRS W-2's, click Add located in the Earnings Tax window on the bottom left corner. 
  • Once an additional Earnings Tax form is created, repeat the steps above for each W-2 needing linked to the PHI return.
• If there is an amount due on one or more W-2, a Form AR Employee Earnings Tax will generate.
