Error: "Printer not activated, error code -30" when trying to print to PDF in CCH ProSystem fx Practice Management.

Due to incompatibility with the Amyuni drivers installed by Quickbooks, there was a conflict with the drivers installed by CCH.
QuickBooks states they have solved this issue once and for all with QuickBooks 2011. QuickBooks 2011 has released as of October 8th, 2010.

Fixes:

  1. Upgrade to Quickbooks 2011

As a work around Amyuni 4.0.1 can be removed and replaced with 4.0.0.7 which is compatible with both Practice Management and QuickBooks.

  1. In folder "C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86" rename or delete the following files:
    • acpdf400.dll
    • acpdfui400.dll
    • cdintf400.dll
  2. In folder "C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3" rename the following:
    • Note: These files are in use and cannot be deleted.
    • acpdf400.dll
    • acpdfui400.dll
    • cdintf400.dll (if present)
  3. Follow the steps on why does my report preview seem to hang when printing or saving a file.
  4. Restart the workstation
  5. Verify that both Practice Management and QuickBooks are able to save to PDF.
