How do I run a Workstation Setup for CCH® ProSystem fx® Tax on a terminal or Citrix server?

Terminal/Citrix® Server Workstation Setup Guidelines

Note:  If the Tax program is local to the Terminal/Citrix server you can run workstation setup option 1 (Setup Icons).

Steps for the Initial Setup on the Terminal or Citrix Server

  1. Press WINDOWS + R to open a run line.
  2. Type CMD on the "Open:" line and click OK.
  3. Type change user /install and press ENTER.
  4. In the CMD window, type ?:\wfx32\wssetup.exe (Where ? is the drive letter that you run CCH® ProSystem fx® Tax from).
  5. Press ENTER.
  6. Click Setup icons and click OK.
  7. Click OK on the next box.
  8. Click Setup on the last box.
  9. Wait for Workstation Setup to finish.
  10. In the CMD window, type ?:\wfx32\wssetup.exe. (Where ? is the drive letter that you run CCH ProSystem fx Tax from).
  11. Press ENTER.
  12. Click Setup workstation to run programs from local drive and click OK.
  13. Select the local drive letter that the files will be installed to and click OK.
  14. Select CCH ProSystem fx Tax as the program group and click OK.
  15. Click Setup.
  16. In the command prompt window, type in change user /execute.
  17. Press ENTER to place the server back in User Mode.
  18. Give users Full Control of C:\Wfx32 on the terminal server.
  19. If prompted earlier for a reboot, reboot the server.

Notes:

  • Run Workstation Setup in Install Mode.
  • Do not reboot until the end of the entire process, if prompted.

Steps for running installation images from a Terminal or Citrix Server

  1. Press WINDOWS + R to open a run line.
  2. Type CMD in the Open: line and click OK.
  3. Type change user /install and press ENTER.
  4. Run Workstation Setup > Setup Icons (Option 1).
  5. Run the installation.
  6. Run Workstation Setup > Setup workstation to run programs from local drive (Option 2).
  7. In the command prompt window, type change user /execute.
  8. Press ENTER to place the server back in User Mode.
  9. If prompted to reboot, reboot the server as soon as possible.
