Error 1334: "The file (filename) cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in the cabinet file 'Data1.cab' when repairing CCH® ProSystem fx® Engagement or Workpaper Manager.
This issue can occur when attempting to run a repair of CCH® ProSystem fx® Engagement or Workpaper Manager.
- This issue has been identified on the December updates for 7.2 and 7.5.
- There was a change to the name of the software in the December update for 7.2 not included in previous versions.
- The workaround for the issue is to uninstall and re-install the Engagement or Workpaper Manager program, and install any related updates.
To resolve this issue for Engagement or Workpaper Manager, do the following:
- In CCH Software Delivery Manager, download the "Full Install - Includes complete installation DVD image" file for your version of Engagement or Workpaper Manager (7.2 or 7.5).
- See our article on using the CCH Software Delivery Manager.
- Double-click the downloaded executable and extract the files.
- Copy the files that were extracted to the Engagement CD Image on the server.
- Copy to the Workpaper Manager CD Image if using Workpaper Manager.
- Run the following command from the server and workstations with Engagement or Workpaper Manager installed:
- msiexec /fvocums "(path to new msi)"
- /fvocums is a form of repair that will refresh the msi information in the registry.
- The repair will also update the Engagement or Workpaper Manager program to the version from the new msi file.
- msiexec /fvocums "(path to new msi)"
- After the installation is finished, run a follow-up repair through Microsoft® Windows® Control Panel > Programs and Features.
- Or, by re-launching the Windows installer package in the CD Image.
- If the repair fails with the "Error 1334" again, the Engagement or Workpaper Manager program must be uninstalled and then re-installed.
- As this issue does not involve the SQL installation, there is no need to re-install the SQL program for Engagement or Workpaper Manager.
Notes:
- After performing the repair (or re-install if needed) on the workstation, the issue will be resolved with any updates moving forward.
- The installation command has not been tested for push installations or scripting.
- Any change to the installation command beyond what has been provided can cause issues with the installation process.
