Listed below are the default paths. If the path during installation was changed to a different directory, set the Central File Room to the customized location, or put the Terminal Server Database on a different server, and the path will need to adjusted accordingly. For specific directions on setting the exclusions in the anti-virus or other scanning protection (Anti-Malware, Anti-Spyware, etc.) software's, please contact the vendor.

File and Folder Exclusion List:

• "?:\Pfx Engagement" or "C:\Program Files (x86)\Pfx Engagement" folders
  • With the release of version 2023 of Engagement and Workpaper Manager, new installations of the software are installed to the Program Files (x86).
  • If a machine with an older version of the software has been upgraded to Engagement to 2023, or the machine is running version 2022 or below, the "?:\Pfx Engagement" directory is the default location.
    • "?" is the drive that CCH ProSystem fx Engagement or Workpaper Manager is installed on. 
  • Subfolders should also be included in the exclusion. 
• Epace.xla
  • This file is found in the Microsoft® Office Library folder, which can change depending on the installation of Microsoft® Office. Here are a few examples:
    • Microsoft® Office 2016 and Microsoft® Office 365 
      • 64x
        • C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\Library
        • OR
        • C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16\Library
      • 32x
        • C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\Library
        • OR
        • C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office16\Library
• Epace.dot
  • This file is found in the C:\Users\[usersname]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP folder.
• Pfx.KnowledgeCoach.dot and Pfx.KnowledgeTools.dot
  • These files are found in the C:\Users\[usersname]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\templates folder.
• The MSSQL##.PROFXENGAGEMENT folder
  • This folder location varies depending on where the Microsoft® SQL Server® instance for Engagement or Workpaper Manager was installed. Common locations include:
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server
    • C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server
• The Workpapers folder
  • This folder will vary from location. Here are a few examples:
    • C:\Pfx Engagement\Admin\Workpapers
    • C:\Pfx Engagement\WM\Workpapers
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Pfx Engagement\Admin\Workpapers
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Pfx Engagement\WM\Workpapers
    • Can also be located in a customized location where the server's workpapers were moved to.

Note: If using an Endpoint protection product with a "ransomware" module, such as Sophos CryptoGuard, the above exclusions must be added separately to this component of the Endpoint protection product.
