Jobs in the Import folder don't process in CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan

To process the jobs, review the following resolutions:

Resolution 1:  Reboot the CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan Administrator computer.

Resolution 2:  CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan files should be processed  immediately once CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan's Folder Watch service detects them in the Import folder.  If the firm uses Shadow Copy or Backup Exe the files might be scanned by these programs and therefore may not be successfully moved.  Edit the General Settings tab's Capture Wait Time field in CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan to increase the interval, about 10-20 seconds. Edit the General Settings tab's Zero-Byte File Idle Time ti about half the Capture Wait Time setting, about 5-10 seconds.

Resolution 3: Check the License Status on CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan Administrator's General Settings tab. If a License Violation has occurred, CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan Administrator must be removed from at least one other computer. You can find a list of other CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan Administrator computers by going to Help > About in CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan Administrator. After uninstalling both the uninstalled machine and the correct CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan Administrator computer must be rebooted. See our article on verifying and uninstalling duplicate installations of CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan Administrator for more information.

Resolution 4: If you've designated the entries for Import, Export or Archive folder from the CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan Administrator computer to use another host (e.g., to a file server) you'll need to set CCH ProSystem fx Scan FolderWatch and CCH ProSystem fx Scan Workflow Services to login as a Domain Administrator user in the CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan Administrator’s Windows Services. See how do I use a separate file server or another computer for the Import, Archive or Export folder in ProSystem fx Scan for more information.

Resolution 5: If you've designated the entries for Import, Export or Archive folder from the CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan Administrator computer to use another host (e.g., to a file server) and don't currently have the correct permissions on them, you'll need to correct or update them; these can be changed in the firm's environment, and update installations of CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan do not modify these permissions. See what must folder permissions be to for CCH ProSystem fx Scan and the PDFlyer installer to work for more details. Note that firms using Windows Workgroups may need to add user accounts to the CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan Administrator computer for the firm staff who need to use CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan (this is a firm IT function, not a CCH support service); firms using a Windows Domain won't need to do this.

Resolution 6: If the CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan Administrator's Windows computer has been renamed since you installed the CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan Administrator, you'll need to uninstall and reinstall CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan Administrator. In Windows Services (services.msc), double-click any of the ProSystem fx Scan services. The name that appears after the @ symbol in the Target field is the name the computer had when CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan Administrator was installed on it; if this is not the same as the current name for the computer then it has been renamed.

Resolution 7: Depending upon the scanner device used and it's output configuration, the Capture Wait Time field in the General Settings tab of CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan Administrator may not allow the scanner enough time to fully write the file into the Import folder, if the firm has the scanner device directly output to CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan. If this value is set to "0", the program might import not import the file or it might only import the first part of the file. Change this time to 10 or 20 seconds as described in Resolution 2.
