How do I get the extended due date to print on the transmittal letter or filing instructions in a return using interview forms when electronically filing the return?
After the due date of the return has passed, the transmittal letter and filing instructions will instruct to return federal Form 8879 to us "as soon as possible." The only time the extended due date will be referenced in the letters will be if the return is getting paper filed or the return is getting electronically filed and the option to include the electronic filing signature form paragraph has been entered on Form 9.
- Go to the Interview form for the appropriate Tax product.
- In the referenced Box, enter Yes
- Calculate the return.
