CCH® ProSystem fx® PDFlyer Standalone is installed in two parts.

1. CCH® ProSystem fx® PDFlyer Standalone Server, which is the installation of a license control component. This is installed on only one server or on an always-on-highly-available computer accessible to other computers on the network.
   1. As of the December 2021 release of version 18, you must use the Software Delivery Manager to download the permission key; see our article "How do I download a permission key for CCH® ProSystem fx® products?" for steps to download the permission key prior to installing CCH® ProSystem fx® PDFlyer Standalone Server.
   2. From the computer that will run CCH® ProSystem fx® PDFlyer Standalone Server, go to our download site. This link is sent to the firm after initial purchase.
   3. Click Download file.
   4. Extract the PDFlyer_Standalone_x.x.x.x.zip file to any location on your hard drive, where x indicates the version number of the file.
   5. From the location where you extracted the file, double-click ProSystem fx PDFlyer Server x.x.x.x.exe.
   6. Follow the installation wizard steps to apply your Permkey and complete the installation.

 

2. CCH® ProSystem fx® PDFlyer plugin for Adobe Acrobat, which is the functional, end-user component. This can be installed on as many computers as the firm is licensed for.
   1. From the computer that you want to use PDFlyer on, close all instances of Adobe® Acrobat®.
   2. Browse to \\[ServerName]\Workstation\ where "[ServerName]" is the computer name or IP address of the computer where you installed CCH® ProSystem fx® PDFlyer Standalone Server in the previous steps.
   3. Double-click ProSystem fx PDFlyer.exe.
   4. Follow the installation wizard steps to complete the installation.

Note: Installation of the CCH® ProSystem fx® PDFlyer Standalone Server on more than one system frequently results in exceeding the firm's license agreement; CCH® ProSystem fx® PDFlyer Standalone Server must be installed on only one computer in the network.
