The CCH Axcess™ or CCH® ProSystem fx® Document Dashboard fails to display the correct Microsoft Office version.

When trying to install CCH Axcess™ or CCH® ProSystem fx® Document plugins for Microsoft Office products, you may find that the Office product versions listed in the Dashboard differ from what is installed on the system. There are two ways this can display:
  • When Office 365 is installed, the Plugins installer interface may display all three Office products as the same incorrect version, such as Office 2016. See section 1 below.
  • The Plugins installer interface may display Word 2010, Outlook 2016 and not display Excel 2016 even though all are installed as version 2016. See section 2 below.
    1. Open any installed Office product.
    2. Click File.
    3. Click Office Account.
    4. Under the About section it will list a version with build information. If that lists Click-to-Run, reinstall Office locally..
  1. These inconsistent product versions may display because the system's Registry has keys or entries that cause the Dashboard interface and the CCH® Office Framework to display incorrect version information. After the incorrect keys or entries are removed, the Dashboard will display the correct currently-installed version of Microsoft Office.
    1. Close the following open application windows:
      • Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
      • Adobe Acrobat.
      • CCH Axcess™ or CCH® ProSystem fx® Document application windows.
    2. Launch the Registry Editor ("Regedit.exe") and search the following paths for folder objects with labels other than "16.0" (e.g, "8.0", "11.0", "12.0", "14.0", "15.0"):
      1. HKEY_CurrentUser\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office
      2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office
      3. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\ClickToRun\REGISTRY\MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office
      4. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Office
      5. HKEY_USERS\(first string of numbers and letters)\Software\Microsoft\Office
    3. Right-click each of the keys or "folders" in Step 2 and select Export to backup a copy of each key, saving the .REG file in a folder of your choice, with a name of your choosing.
    4. Delete the keys or "folders" other than "16.0".
    5. Exit the Registry Editor.
    6. Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\WK\ProSystem fx Suite\Smart Client\SaaS\OFFICEFRAMEWORK
    7. Run the Office2007us.msi file.
    8. First to uninstall and then run it again to reinstall.
    9. Open CCH Axcess™ or CCH® ProSystem fx® Document Dashboard.
    10. Click User Options > Plug-ins.
    11. Scroll to the right to install each of the plugins.
