CCH® ProSystem fx® Tax: User Guide

CCH ProSystem fx Tax is the professional software system that integrates and manages your tax processing and office administration. CCH ProSystem fx combines comprehensive tax capabilities and office management applications with the latest Windows® and Internet technology to offer you the most advanced tax compliance software available. In addition to this guide, the CCH ProSystem fx Tax Quick Start Guide for Worksheet View Processing and the CCH ProSystem fx Tax Quick Start Guide for Interview View Processing are available to walk you through the creation and printing of a sample tax return. This guide includes the following chapters:
  • Chapter 1, Planning Your System, helps you plan for optimal installation, maintenance, and performance. This chapter covers system and printer configuration, network information, performance tips, and includes a preseason checklist.
  • Chapter 2, Installation, provides installation instructions for the tax program and tax products. It also explains how to set up a workstation, calc server, and laptop environment.
  • Chapter 3, Office Manager, shows you how to set up firm, office group, and staff information. Office Manager helps you perform system “housekeeping tasks,” such as backing up client and return data, checking files in and out, and deleting files.
  • Chapter 4, Tax Preparation, explains the process of completing and managing your tax returns, introduces you to an extensive number of product features, and walks you through setting user preferences and defaults.

  • Chapter 8, Communications, shows you how to access your service center and download authorizations using the Internet.
  • Chapter 9, Electronic Filing, explains how to configure electronic filing settings, create electronic files, as well as how to file and view the status of electronic returns.
  • Chapter 10, Client Manager & To Do List, shows you how to establish, organize, and manage the centralized client database, which is available if you have licensed Client Manager. It also describes the To Do List, which helps you organize office tasks.
