What are the recommended settings in Microsoft® Excel® and Word for opening workpapers from CCH® ProSystem fx® Engagement or Workpaper Manager?
In both Microsoft® Excel® and Word, do the following:
Add Workpapers to Microsoft Office Trusted Locations:
Open a Microsoft® Excel® or Word file and click File > Options . Click Trust Center > Trust Center Settings . Click Trusted Locations > Add new location . In the file "Path:" type c:\pfx engagement\wm\workpapers . Check the box Subfolders of this location are also trusted. Click OK .
NOTE: If this is for a Terminal Server Environment:
The above workpaper path will most likely be on another machine, the Terminal Services Database Machine.
You must add the UNC path to the Local file room workpapers to the Trusted Locations.
Place the UNC path to the Local Fileroom workpapers share on the Terminal server database server into the trusted locations. Example: \\TSDB\Workpapers Note - do not use the Fully Qualified Domain Name(FQDN) of the server in the UNC path above.
NOT NOT USE: \\TSDB.DOMAIN.COM\Workpaper
Disable Protected Mode:
Open a Microsoft® Excel® or Word file and click File > Options . Click Trust Center > Trust Center Settings . Click Protected View , and clear all checkboxes.
In only Microsoft® Word, do the following:
Disable Reading View:
In Microsoft Word click File > Options . Click General . Clear the Open E-Mail attachments and other uneditable files in reading view option.
