The following are the best practices for Data Axcess Utility:

1. Follow the suggested settings in the DAU-SQLserver.pdf configuration document attached to this article
2. Subscribe to CCH Software News so you remain informed. 
3. Socialize with the people in your firm who create or use Data Axcess reports regarding how it works and when data is available
4. Install to the path: c:\Data Axcess Utility\
5. Configure the Windows schedule task to 7:00 AM, local time
6. Review the log files every day to confirm that Data Axcess refresh was successful
7. Create a calendar reminder, or other procedure, to update password in Data Axcess Utility Manager and CCH Axcess™ before the password expires
8. Create a user for the utility

** The settings / changes made to the DAU Install, SQL Instance and SQL Databases, will have to be redone after each update of DAU. Currently, DAU does not install or update with the optimized settings.
