Procedure
General Column Setup:
- The 1st column in the Excel file is for the Account Number.
- If not using an Account Number in every row, this entire column must be populated with unique account numbers or left blank.
- The 2nd column is for the Account Name and is required to be populated.
- The 3rd column is for the Current Period Debit Balance and is required to be populated.
- There cannot be any zero balances in this column.
- Do not include a + sign in the data.
- The 4th column is for the Current Period Credit Balance and is required to be populated.
- There cannot be any zero balances in this column.
- Do not include a - sign in the data.
- The 5th column is for Prior Period Debit Balance.
- If not importing a Prior Period Debit Balance, this column must be left blank.
- The 6th column is for Prior Period Credit Balance.
- If not importing a Prior Period Credit Balance, this column must be left blank.
- The data must begin on row 2 of the worksheet. Row 1 is either left blank or used for header information.
- Do not include subtotals, or extraneous data below or to the right of the data.
- Have only one instance of each account number and/or account name.
- The account balances must be positive amount in either the debit or credit columns.
- You cannot have a balance in both the debit and credit columns for an account. This includes listing a zero balance.
- The debit and credit balances must be in separate columns.
