"Electronic Filing. A diagnostic override has been entered on federal General, Electronic Filing worksheet, General section, Diagnostic override field to forcibly qualify the return for electronic filing. If diagnostics are overridden that should not be overridden, the return WILL BE REJECTED BY THE IRS."

Resolution:
If diagnostic 49004 is the only electronic filing diagnostic issuing in your return, then this diagnostic can be disregarded, as 49004 by itself will not indicate an invalidated electronic file.- This diagnostic will issue if a diagnostic override code has been entered and calculated with the return.
- A diagnostic override code is provided by CCH Software support when CCH developers can confirm that a particular 40000, 50000, 60000 level diagnostic will not cause an efile rejection.
- If the diagnostic override code was provided by CCH Software support for a particular efile diagnostic, then diagnostic 49004 will remind the preparer to clear all other 40000 and 60000 level diagnostics before efiling.
- Any diagnostic issuing other than the one for which the diagnostic override was given are likely generating properly, and thus reflect the expected efile rejection text a return will receive if efiled with its current state.
