How do I add users to CCH Axcess™ Workflow?

Procedure

New users will receive a welcome email with instructions for accessing CCH Axcess Workflow once you have saved their information.


To create a user in CCH Axcess Workflow, do the following:
  1. Click the Utilities Menu button in the upper right corner of the window to open the Utilities menu.
  2. Click Manage Users under User Utilities to open the Manage Users page.
  3. If needed, set the filter in the User Status column to indicate if you want to view active or inactive users.
  4. Click Add New User.
  5. Enter the information for the new user in the User Details section. Required fields are indicated by an asterisk.
    • Note: Hover your pointer over the User-added image icon to get more information about the information required in a field.
  6. If needed, change the views pinned on the MyView page in the User Preferences section. See How do I change the views pinned to MyView in CCH Axcess Workflow? for more information.
    • Note: You can pin up to seven independent views. If no views are selected, My Tasks is the default pinned view.
  7. If you selected that the employee was part-time, you can set the user's hours in the Resource Availability section.
    • Note: When the hours are not set in the user’s profile, the default hours that have been set by the firm for the user’s location is considered. You can set the default hours for the firm through Manage Settings and Defaults > Firm Display Calendar Schedule > Firm Calendar Settings. If the firm has not set the default hours for the location for a specific time period, then CCH Axcess Workflow's default of 8 hours is considered as the hours per day for the user.
  8. If you want to set the user's rights, do the following. Detailed information about what each user right permits is included in the article CCH Axcess Workflow User Rights.
    • Notes:
      • Although you can manage user rights for individual users, for more efficiency, we recommend that firms create User Right Groups to manage user rights. If a user has been assigned rights via a user right group, the group name displays in the Group Name column.
      • When a user belongs to a group, the rights under the group cannot be deselected. 
    1. Click the section in the navigation pane on the left side of the page that you want to assign rights for.
    2. Select the check box for rights you want to assign to the user. Clear the check box for rights you want to revoke.
    3. Repeat steps a and b for each section you want to assign user rights for. 
  9. Click Add User in the top right to save the new user.
