Symptoms

Receiving the message "msedgewebview2.exe – Application Error" when launching CCH Axcess or "WebView2 creation failed with exception"

Environment

  • CCH Axcess

Cause

When Microsoft performs a Windows update or has a Windows update queued on the workstation, you may receive an exception error when attempting to launch CCH Axcess through the msedgewebview2 runtime.
 

Resolution

To clear the exception error, complete the Windows update, logout and reboot the workstation. Once logged back into Windows, launch the application.
