Answer

These certain characters should be avoided when creating client names in CCH Axcess™ and CCH® ProSystem fx® Document, and they are prohibited from use in file names when adding a new file to (or changing the name of an existing file in) CCH Axcess™ Document and CCH® ProSystem fx® Document:
  • < (less than)
  • > (greater than)
  • : (colon)
  • " (double quote)
  • ' (single quote)
  • / (forward slash)
  • \ (backslash)
  • | (vertical bar or pipe)
  • ? (question mark)
  • * (asterisk)

Additional Information

Although CCH Axcess™ Client Manager and CCH® ProSystem fx® Client Manager permit the use of these characters when creating a client entity, if the client entity's name is used in the Tax Mapping options to name a return file printed into CCH Axcess™ Document or CCH® ProSystem fx® Document, downloading the file from CCH Axcess™ Document or CCH® ProSystem fx® Document or sending the file using CCH Axcess™ Document Share Safe or CCH Axcess™ Portal can cause the name to be truncated.
