Introduction

Under most circumstances, CCH Axcess updates are applied automatically or updates are applied the first time you launch CCH Axcess after a new version is released. Occasionally, some troubleshooting steps recommend uninstalling and reinstalling CCH Axcess, which can involve several steps or require your firm IT department. The reinstall button makes it easier and faster for you to resolve some issues on your own.

How to Use the Reinstall Button

Close all CCH Axcess windows.
Close Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.

Reminder: Do not open these programs until reinstall is complete.

Open Install and Update Manager
Select Update in the navigation panel.
Click Reinstall
Click OK to begin reinstalling.
Wait for the reinstall to complete.
Click Close.

During Routine Updates

The fastest and most reliable way to update your computer is to let the update download and install as pictured below. If you click Reinstall on this screen, Administrator rights are required and you may need help from your IT department. If updates are taking longer than expected, close the update screen and follow the steps above.

When Other Steps are Required

If the troubleshooting steps include an action after uninstalling and before reinstalling, then the reinstall button will not work. In those cases you must uninstall, complete the additional steps, and then reinstall using Install and Update Manager. This such cases you must elevate to administrator privileges to install again.
