How do I generate an amended title on a state Fiduciary return using worksheet view?

For completing the amended returns for the following states Alabama, California, Georgia, Illinois, Minnesota, New York, Utah:

 State Worksheet Section Line #
 Alabama Alabama > Other 1 - Amended Return 1 - 7
 California California > Other 1 - Amended Form 541 1 - 33
 Georgia Georgia > Other 2 - Amended Return 1 - 10
 Illinois Illinois > Other 4 - Amended Return 1 - 56
 Minnesota    Minnesota > Other    4 - Amended Return 1 - 47
 New York New York > Other 2 - Amended Return options 1 - 8
 New York New York > Other 3 - Amounts from Original Return - Overrides 1 - 18
New York New York > Other 4 - Explanation of charges 1
New York New York > Other 5 - Reason for NOT Conceding Federal Audit Changes    1
 Utah Utah > General 1 - Basic Data 4

For completing all other state amended returns not listed above use either Method 1 or Method 2:

Method 1:

  1. Go to the General > Basic Data worksheet.
    • Select section 1 – General.
      • In line 27 - Amended return, enter a check. (Federal return and this entry will also mark the state return as amended)
  2. Calculate return.

Method 2:

  1. Go to the Common State > State Information worksheet.
    • Select section 2 – State Information and Overrides.
      • Enter line 1 - State.
      • In line 4 - Amended return, enter Yes. (This will generate a state amended return without a federal amended)
  2. Calculate return.

States that do not have a trust return:

  • Alaska
  • Florida
  • Nevada
  • South Dakota
  • Texas
  • Washington
  • Wyoming

Note: Under Option 2, if line 1 has a state code and line 4 equals No, it will prevent the state amended return from being generated if there is a Form 1041X.  Idaho is the exception in that an amended Form 1041 requires an amended Idaho fiduciary return.
