CCH Axcess™: IE Enhanced Security Configuration for Citrix or Terminal Servers

As Wolters Kluwer transitions CCH Axcess from a Smart Client to a Thin Client model, we will be introducing a new Thin Client login process this November. Firms using Windows Server with a Citrix or Terminal Server may encounter an error using this new process.

The error stems from the IE Enhanced Security Configuration (ESC) in Microsoft Server Manager. If this option is disabled, users can successfully log in. If this option is enabled, an error occurs.

Wolters Kluwer does not propose a recommendation for either enabling or disabling the IE ESC option. This determination must be made by the firm’s IT operations and security team. The purpose of this communication is to provide a resolution to the login error, if encountered.

The following details the configuration changes that resolve the login error which IE ESC is enabled.
  1. First, confirm that IE Enhanced Security Configuration is turned on in Server Manager at your Citrix or Terminal Server.
