Important!

  • Microsoft® Small Business Server®, Windows Server® Essentials, and Windows Server® Foundation are not supported.
  • Installing Engagement on a server that is also a Domain Controller is not supported.
  • Installing Engagement on a server that is also the firm's Exchange Server is not supported.
  • Linux® is supported for workpaper storage only.
  • Microsoft® Windows® 8.1 Pro and Enterprise Editions are supported.
  • Microsoft® Windows® 8 is not supported; we recommend upgrading to Windows® 8.1 or Windows® 10.
  • Microsoft® Windows® 7 is supported; however, Microsoft® ended mainstream support for this operating system on January 13, 2015. Support will be discontinued after November 30th, 2019.  We recommend upgrading to Windows® 8.1 or Windows® 10 as soon as possible.
  • All Microsoft® Windows® Home Editions are not supported.

CCH ProSystem fx Workpaper Manager 2019 supports Adobe® Acrobat® Standard, Professional, and Reader®, versions 11 (support will be discontinued after December 31st, 2019), DC, and 2017 32-bit versions only. However, editing and other functionality is only available with Adobe® Acrobat® Standard or Professional. 

Note: Workpaper Manager workpapers must be opened with Protected Mode turned off. For further information please see Note Regarding Adobe® Acrobat® 11, DC, and 2017.

Note Regarding Adobe® Acrobat®/Reader® 11, DC, and 2017  - [RETURN]

CCH ProSystem fx Workpaper Manager 2019 supports Adobe® Acrobat® Standard, Professional, and Reader®, versions 11 (support will be discontinued after December 31st, 2019), DC, and 2017 32-bit versions only. However, editing and other functionality is only available with Adobe® Acrobat® Standard or Professional. 

The "Protected Mode" must be turned off in Adobe® Acrobat® Standard or Professional to use Engagement functionality, such as: tickmark definitions, workpaper notes, and workpaper references, By default, "Protected Mode" is on. Workpaper Manager will detect this setting and prompt you to disable it.

  • If you select Yes, Protected Mode is turned off and the workpaper is opened with Workpaper Manager functionality in place.
  • If you select No, the workpaper opens in Protected Mode, and Workpaper Manager functionality is disabled.
To manually set Adobe® Acrobat® Standard or Professional, versions 11, DC, and 2017, to always open with Protected Mode turned off, do the following:
  1. Open Adobe® Acrobat®.
  2. Select Edit > Preferences > General. (In Adobe® Acrobat® DC or 2017, select Edit > Preferences > Security (Enhanced)).
  3. Uncheck the Enable Protected Mode at startup option.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Restart Adobe® Acrobat®.
