How do I add a new Year and Year Folder in CCH Axcess™ or CCH® ProSystem fx® Document?

A "Year Folder" in CCH Axcess™ or CCH® ProSystem fx® Document is a special folder, seen in the folder template and in Document Central, that relates to a system Year. Unlike a Custom Folder, which can be created in a Template by a user and which can be deleted from a template by a user, a Year Folder must be generated upon creation of a Year in Document Lists and can only be deleted from Document Lists. A Custom Folder may be labeled for a Year, but it will not correspond to the system Year, and we don't recommend firms label Custom Folders as years.

The Year folder for the next or following year (the next "tax season"), if not already created correctly by the firm per the instructions below, will be created automatically on or after October 1 and until October 31 of the preceding year upon the first user logs into CCH Axcess™ or CCH® ProSystem fx® Dashboard. If no user logs into CCH Axcess™ or CCH® ProSystem fx® Dashboard during the month of October (which is not likely in most firms), the firm must manually create the new Year Folder as explained below. The firm can also add multiple (and prior) years if desired. 

CCH Axcess™ Document:
  1. Launch CCH Axcess™ Dashboard > Application Links > Document Lists > Years > New
  2. Enter the Year.
  3. Press the Tab key and close the window when finished.
CCH® ProSystem fx® Document:
  1. Launch CCH® ProSystem fx® Dashboard > Configuration > Document > Lists > Document Lists > Years > New.
  2. Enter the Year.
  3. Press the Tab key and close the window when finished..
After creating the new Year, a new Year folder will automatically appear in the Folder Templates at the bottom of the listing of folders.
