XIS Frequently Asked Questions
What is XIS used for?
XIS is used for CCH ProSystem fx Practice Management Integration utilities, i.e. Importing Clients from Practice Management into CCH Axcess Workflow as well as for attaching document links in the routing sheet in CCH Axcess Workflow for both local documents and CCH ProSystem fx Documents.
Which version of XIS do I have?
Generally speaking, the most common version that CCH Axcess Workflow users would have is ‘AutoXIS’, Users with Local workstations or Laptops that are not working in a virtual desktop environment. DesktopXIS is an alternative version that is only installed when you have trouble with AutoXIS. If you hover over the XIS icon in the system tray you'll find the version number of XIS. AutoXIS is currently on version 1.0.20.22. If you have any other version, you're using DesktopXIS.
If I'm on ServerXIS, how do I get this updated?
You will want to forward over the link in the original communication email containing ServerXIS update instructions to your IT Administrator or IT Helpdesk that manages those servers and environments or your Server Hosting Company.
How frequently do you update XIS?
XIS is typically updated 1 or 2 times a year for various reasons, mostly due to changes in the CCH API’s, or security and bug fixes.
Why is this update needed?
XIS contains a Security Certificate which is set to expire near the end of December 12/27/2023. We have renewed and refreshed this certificate in the latest XIS build.
What impact will I have if I don't update XIS by the end of the month?
You will no longer be able to use the PM Integration related Utilities in CCH Axcess Workflow, also, the ability to attach new document links or modify CCH document links within the Task routing sheet will not function.
What are the ports involved in XIS?
