Objectives

To provides the System Requirements for 2021 CCH ProSystem fx Engagement.

 

NOTE: This article has each module's requirements listed. Workpaper Management is selected by default. Modules can be added and/or removed during the initial installation, or after an installation has been completed by modifying it.

Important!

  • Microsoft® Small Business Server®, Windows Server® Essentials, and Windows Server® Foundation are not supported.
  • Installing Engagement on a server that is also a Domain Controller is not supported.
  • Installing Engagement on a server that is also the firm's Exchange Server is not supported.
  • Linux® is supported for workpaper storage only.
  • Microsoft® Windows® 8.1 Pro and Enterprise Editions are supported.
  • Microsoft® Windows® 8 is not supported; we recommend upgrading to Windows® 8.1 or Windows® 10.
  • All Microsoft® Windows® Home Editions are not supported.

4 to 8 GB RAM

32-bit:

  • 2 GB RAM

64-bit:

  • 4 GB RAM

Notes:

  • Additional memory improves performance and may be required to run additional applications simultaneously.
  • Memory consumption varies based on usage of Microsoft® SQL Server®.

Drive Space

Administrator requires approximately 405 MB of drive space when installed with the CD image, 3.5 GB of drive space in the Temp folder, and additional space required for data.

Microsoft® .NET Framework 4.7.2 Full is required by Engagement.
CCH ProSystem fx Engagement 2021 supports Adobe® Acrobat® Standard, Professional, and Reader® DC, 2017 and 2020 32-bit version only. However, editing with an Engagement functionality is only available with Adobe® Acrobat® Standard or Professional. 

Note: Engagement workpapers must be opened with Protected Mode turned off. For further information please see Note Regarding Adobe® Acrobat®/Reader® DC, 2017 and 2020.

Note Regarding Adobe® Acrobat®/Reader® DC, 2020

CCH ProSystem fx Engagement 2021 supports Adobe® Acrobat® Standard, Professional, and Reader® DC,  2020 32-bit version only. However, editing with an Engagement functionality is only available with Adobe® Acrobat® Standard or Professional. 

The "Protected Mode" must be turned off in Adobe® Acrobat® Standard or Professional to use Engagement functionality, such as: tickmark definitions, workpaper notes, and workpaper references, By default, "Protected Mode" is on. Engagement will detect this setting and prompt you to disable it.

  • If you select Yes, Protected Mode is turned off and the workpaper is opened with Engagement functionality in place.
  • If you select No, the workpaper opens in Protected Mode, and Engagement functionality is disabled.


To manually set Adobe® Acrobat® Standard or Professional DC, to always open with Protected Mode turned off, do the following:

  1. Open Adobe® Acrobat®.
  2. Select Edit > Preferences > General.
    • Note: In Adobe® Acrobat® DC : Select Edit > Preferences > Security (Enhanced).
  3. Uncheck the Enable Protected Mode at startup option.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Restart Adobe® Acrobat®.
