How do I prepare Arkansas passthrough entity tax AR1100PET with a 1065 return using CCH® ProSystem fx® Tax and CCH Axcess™ Tax?

Procedure
- Go to Arkansas > Pass-Through Entity Tax worksheet.
- Expand section - Pass-Through Entity Tax.
- In line - Pass-Through Entity Tax Prepare (Y/N), select Y.
- Calculate the return.
- Go to Common State > State PTE Generation worksheet.
- In line Arkansas, select the checkbox in the Generate State PTE Return column.
- Calculate the return.
Preparation
- Go to Extensions > Extensions worksheet > section State Extension Information > line - Produce all state first extensions (Interview EXT-2, box 30), select the checkbox.
- Or grid - Specific State Information - First Extensions, in column State Code (Interview EXT-2, Box 40) select AR.
- If after 3/15, also select the checkbox titled X to Unlock (Interview EXT-2, box 45) .
- Line Amount of this Payment, calculates based on AR1100PET, line 7, but can be overridden directly on the form, or Arkansas > Penalty and Payments worksheet > line Payment made with extension - override (Interview Arkansas > AR4, box 38).
- Line 2A is populated if the Federal 7004 extension is prepared.
- Line 2B is populated if extension input below is used and the Federal 7004 extension is not prepared.
- Page 1, lines 1, 3, 8, 10 and 11 can be overridden at Arkansas > Pass-Through Entity Tax worksheet > expand section 1, lines 5-9.
- Page 1, line 16 and 17:
- Arkansas > General worksheet > section General > line Date return filed if after due date, input applicable filing date.
- Arkansas > Payments / Penalties worksheet > section Late Interest and Penalties.
- Line Compute late payment interest, will populate line 16.
- Line Compute late payment penalty, will populate line 17.
- Go to Federal > Payments / Penalties / Estimates > Penalties worksheet > section State / City Late Interest and Penalties > column State = AR, and column Late Payment Penalty, will populate line 17.
- Page 3, lines 1, 2, 4-7, 10, 12-15, 17-23, 26, and 28-29 can be overridden at Arkansas > Pass-Through Entity Tax worksheet > expand section 3 - Lines 1-6, 8, 10-13, and 15-24.
- Go to Arkansas > Pass-Through Entity Tax worksheet.
- Expand section AR1100NOL.
- In line 1 - Tax year end when loss incurred, input the year end of the loss carryforward.
- In line 2 - NOL amount, input the original loss amount from the year input in line 1.
- In column - Tax year, input each year in which portions of the NOL were utilized.
- In column Claimed amount, input amounts already utilized of the amount input in line 2.
- In column Balance, these fields will override the calculated amount for the row of AR1100NOL.
- Calculate the return.
- Go to Arkansas > Pass-Through Entity Tax worksheet.
- Expand section AR 362 Information.
- In line Produce AR362 - PET Election form, select Y to prepare.
- In lines 4-10, input applicable information if preparing the election.
- In lines 2 and 3, select applicable option and input applicable date if preparing a revocation.
- Calculate the return.
Note
- Arkansas > General worksheet > section General > line Return filing status field controls how and where the state taxable income is calculated;
- AR1100PET, page 3 will populate if page 1, option 1 or 3 is selected.
- AR1100PET, page 3 will be blank if page 1, option 2 is selected - Multistate Pass-Through Entity - Apportionment, prompting taxable income to be calculated on AR1100, page 4, based direct on Federal business income.
