Can an extension be electronically filed after April 18th for those areas that were included in an IRS disaster location with an automatic extension?

Answer
The IRS never updates their extension or payment rejections because of disasters. They will not accept Form 4868 after 4/22 (includes the 5-day perfection period for TY2022) unless lines 8 or 9 are checked. They can still be timely filed but it’ll have to be by paper.
The same goes for scheduling payments. The IRS may consider it timely filed if filed by the extended date provided by them, but they will not allow future payments scheduled after 4/17. The payments would need to be scheduled through the IRS.gov website or paid by check.
