Issue

You tried log into Accounting Research Manager (ARM) and received a message saying the user name and password is already in use.

Cause

This message generally indicates that the ID you are using is already accessing ARM.  If you have switched computers without logging out of your original session, that original session may remain in effect for up to 20 minutes from the last activity.  You may also have a second internet tab open within your browser that is logged into ARM.  In some cases, improperly exiting ARM (e.g. closing the browser instead of using the Log Out link) and attempting to access it again may also cause this error.

Resolution

You will need to wait about 20 minutes for the system to automatically log you out before you can log in again.  If you believe an unauthorized user has compromised your ID and password, please inform your organization's Accounting Research Manager site contact so they may create a new user name and password for you.
