How are the amounts to beneficiaries on Form 706, Part 4, line 5 calculated, using interview forms?

The amounts to each beneficiary is calculated is as follows:

  • Add: Beneficiary's share of nonresiduary assets entered on Interview Forms A-1 through I-1, boxes 60 through 65.
  • Add: Beneficiary's share of nonresiduary items entered on Interview Form EST-6, boxes 60 through 71.
  • Less: Beneficiary's share of deductions payable out of nonresiduary assets entered on Interview Forms J-1 through L-2, boxes 60 through 65.
  • Add: Beneficiary's share of residue after taxes calculated using the percent or amount entered on Interview Form EST-3, box 41.
  • The amount to each beneficiary is detailed in the Amounts Passing to Beneficiaries Worksheet located on the Government Forms Tree or under Worksheets in the Government Forms List.
  • Note: If there is an override entered on Interview Form EST-3, box 42, the beneficiary's shares of nonresiduary assets and deductions entered on Interview Forms A-1 through L-2, Boxes 60 through 65 are ignored. Instead, the override amount carries to the Amounts Passing to Beneficiaries Worksheet and Form 706, Part 4, line 5.
