How do I back up my SQL database to a network location using the CCH® ProSystem fx® Engagement Database Backup & Restore Utility?

Using the CCH ProSystem fx Engagement Database Backup & Restore Utility to direct SQL backups to a network location requires the following:
  • The SQL Server service (PROFXENGAGEMENT) must be running under a domain-level account.
  • The account must exist locally.
  1. Press Windows+R to open the Run window.
  2. Enter services.msc and click OK.
  3. Right-click SQL Server (PROFXENGAGEMENT) and click Properties.
  4. Select the Logon tab and change Local account to Domain account.
  5. Verify that the SQL Server service account has full control rights to the file system folder and to the UNC share.
  • Notes:
    • The remote share should only be accessed via UNC path.
    • Mapped drives may not be consistently visible to the SQL instance.

The CCH PFx Engagement Database Backup & Restore Utility can be configured to run as a Scheduled Task using the Scheduled Tasks wizard via the Control Panel.
