How do I back up my SQL database to a network location using the CCH® ProSystem fx® Engagement Database Backup & Restore Utility?
Using the CCH ProSystem fx Engagement Database Backup & Restore Utility to direct SQL backups to a network location requires the following:
- The SQL Server service (PROFXENGAGEMENT) must be running under a domain-level account.
- The account must exist locally.
- Press Windows+R to open the Run window.
- Enter services.msc and click OK.
- Right-click SQL Server (PROFXENGAGEMENT) and click Properties.
- Select the Logon tab and change Local account to Domain account.
- Verify that the SQL Server service account has full control rights to the file system folder and to the UNC share.
- Notes:
- The remote share should only be accessed via UNC path.
- Mapped drives may not be consistently visible to the SQL instance.
The CCH PFx Engagement Database Backup & Restore Utility can be configured to run as a Scheduled Task using the Scheduled Tasks wizard via the Control Panel.
