What must folder permissions be to for CCH ProSystem fx Scan and the PDFlyer installer to work?

CCH ProSystem fx Scan and PDFlyer use several shared folders, with default locations inside the folder structure that CCH ProSystem fx Scan Administrator creates on the Admin computer’s local hard drive (usually the C: drive).

 The shared folders include:

"?:\ProSystem fx Scan\ProSystem fx Scan Shared" (this default folder structure also has several subfolders, including the default Import, Export, Archive and other subfolders that must inherit the permissions)

"?:\ProSystem fx Scan\Permkey" - this folder contains the product licensing tools and information that are necessary to install PDFlyer on workstations.

"?:\ProSystem fx Scan\Workstation" - this folder contains the product licensing tools and information that are necessary to install, and use CCH ProSystem fx Scan Workstation on workstations as well as the CCH ProSystem fx Scan user guide.

The permissions on these folders might be changed, potentially causing several errors, and they must be verified and corrected if necessary.

  1. At the computer on which CCH ProSystem fx Scan Administrator is installed, log in as a Local Administrator.
  2. Open Computer and browse to the CCH ProSystem fx Scan folder (the default location is "C:\ProSystem fx Scan").
  3. Right-click each of the above folders, and select Properties.
  4. On the Security tab, verify the Everyone group has Full Control permissions.
    • Choose Edit and modify permissions if necessary.
  5. On the Sharing tab, click Advanced Sharing and then Permissions.
    • Add the Everyone group here with Full Control also.
  6. Repeat steps 3-5 with the other shared folders.
