How do I use a separate file server or another computer for the CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan Import, Archive or Export folders?
If you need to move or assign the Import, Export or Archive folder from the CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan Administrator computer to another host (e.g. to a file server, etc.), you'll also need to make two services start and login as a Domain Administrator user in the CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan Administrator computer’s Windows Services. This is only necessary if one or more of the folders specified in any of the folder in the Folder Settings tab is not located on the CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan Administrator computer.
To set these services, do the following:
- On the CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan Administrator computer, click the Start button.
- Click Run or click in the Search programs and files box, and type or paste services.msc and press ENTER.
- Scroll to the CCH ProSystem fx Scan FolderWatch service, and double-click it.
- Click the Log On tab, and click the This account selection button.
- Input the name of a Domain Administrator user (or click the Browse button and input the name of a Domain Administrator, then click OK) in the format "
\ " or " @ " and input the Domain Administrator user's password in the Password and Confirm password fields. - Click OK, then click OK again in the message boxes that follow. You'll be informed in one of the boxes that the login will take effect the next time the service starts; click OK in this confirmation box.
- Right-click the CCH ProSystem fx Scan FolderWatch ervice, and select Restart.
- Repeat steps 3 through 8 for the CCH ProSystem fx Scan Workflow service.
Note: If the password for this Domain Administrator user is changed on the Domain, you must also update the password fields for both services and restart them. Failure to keep the password updated can cause the CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan system to stop processing files.
