Error: "Illegal characters in path" when checking out a file in CCH ProSystem fx Document.

This is usually caused by an illegal character in the Client ID or Client Sort Field.

To check this ...

  1. Open Dashboard.
  2. Click Configuration.
  3. Under "Client Manager," click Client.
  4. Open the specific client.
  5. Check the "Client ID" and "Sort name" fields for symbol characters.
  6. If there are any, remove them and save.
