How do I configure Online Check Printing (OCP)?

The Configure Printer option allows you to:
  • Select your printer
  • Select how your check stock should be loaded in your printer tray
  • Print a sample page to visually compare where the text lines up against a blank check from your check stock

To configure your printer, do the following:
  1. Click the Configure Printer link on the left.
  2. On the Setup Printer > Configure Printer page, select a Windows printer from the list of printers available from your computer by clicking the down arrow beside Printer Name.
  3. In the Printer Orientation section use the down arrow to select the method that indicates the correct placement of your check stock in the printer. You may need to experiment with a scrap piece of paper that is already printed on one side to determine the correct way to load your actual check stock in your printer tray. Choices are:
    • Face up, signature last
    • Face down, signature last
    • Face up, signature first
    • Face down, signature first
  • Note: Once you set this for the printer you selected, you will not have to set it again unless you change printers. Your selection appears on the Print Checks page to remind you of the correct way to load your check stock each time you print checks.
  1. Click Next. The page shown will prompt you to place a blank sheet of paper in your printer in order to print a sample check.
  2. Click Next to print the sample check.

If Print Positions are Correct

If the print positions are correct, that is: the amounts print in the amount box, and the word Void appears just above the signature line, then you can continue. With the No option selected, click Next to continue to the Setup Printer > Setup Complete page.

This page displays a message telling you that your alignment settings are saved. Click Continue to go to the Print Checks page.

If Print Positions Need Adjusting

If the print positions need adjusting, select Yes and click Next to go back to the Setup Printer > Configure Printer page.

Adjusting the Starting Print Position
Use the Horizontal Offset and/or Vertical Offset to move the starting print position.

The number you enter in Horizontal Offset represents the number of spaces to the right to move the starting print position in increments of 1/10 of an inch. Entering 5 will move the print position 1/2 inch to the right, or enter 10 to move 1 inch to the right. To adjust the print position to the left, enter a negative number.

The Vertical Offset moves the print position down in the same way. To adjust printing up, enter a negative number.

Enter the number for the adjustments in the Horizontal Offset and/or Vertical Offset boxes and click Next to continue with steps 3 and 4 to print a new sample page again based on the new print settings and compare it to your blank check again.

Once you confirm that printing alignment is correct and click Continue as in step 5, the program displays the Print Checks page.
