How do I find the Vendor Control Number (VCN) in the Electronic Filing Status System?

Approximately 48 hours after entering your Electronic Filing Identification Number (EFIN) and Tracking Number in EFIN Manager, you will be able to find your Vendor Control Number (VCN) that is assigned to your EFIN in the Electronic Filing Status System.

To find the VCN assigned to your EFIN, do the following:
  1. Open the Electronic Filing Status System.
  2. If you are a CCH® ProSystem fx® Tax user, first select an office.  If you are in CCH Axcess™ skip to step 3.
  3. In the upper-right corner, click Admin > EFIN Manager. The list of your EFINs and VCNs displays.

Notes

  • We will create a new Vendor Control Number (VCN) for each of your EFINs.
  • VCNs are available now for Tax customers who electronically filed a 2015 return prior to December 1, 2016.
  • New Tax customers who have submitted their IRS e-Services EFIN application will be provided a VCN on January 8, 2017.
  • Any e-Services EFIN applications submitted after January 8th will be processed and a VCN provided within 48 hours.
